MISSING
WIL HENDRICK

Rebroadcast Date: October 23, 2001 (Originally broadcast on August 7, 2001.)

SYNOPSIS: On January 10, 1999, in Moscow, Idaho, Wil Hendrick mysteriously vanished without a trace. At 25, Wil Hendrick seemed to have it all. He was a well-liked senior in the theatre department, had a good job on campus and had recently landed a small part in a Hollywood action film. Some believe his disappearance may be connected to the fact that he was gay.

The night before he went missing, Wil attended a party. When he arrived, the party, which was held in a friend's second-floor apartment, was in full swing. In an apartment on the third floor, Moscow locals, including many former athletes from the town high school, attended another party. Throughout the night Wil was preoccupied with his friend, Karen, and the trouble she was having with her boyfriend, who was attending the third floor party. At around 2:30 in the morning, Wil's friend noticed Wil's car was still parked out front and assumed he had gone upstairs. When Wil failed to return home, his friends combed the city searching for him. They found Wil's car parked on a downtown street, but there was no sign of Wil.

It has been two years since Wil Hendrick's disappearance. Grasping for answers, Wil's partner, Jerry, has pursued a theory that someone they both knew might have crossed Wil's path early that January morning.

UPDATE: In September of 2002, two hunters found the remains of Wil Hendrick in a rural area outside of Moscow, Idaho.   Police believe that Hendrick probably knew his attacker. If you have any information about the death of Wil Hendrick, please contact the San Diego Police Department or call the Unsolved Mysteries hotline, 1-800-876-5353.
