MISSING HOLLY KREWSON |
|
Broadcast Date: June 25, 2002 SYNOPSIS: Holly Krewson disappeared from La Mesa, California during the spring of 1995. Despite her mother's exhaustive efforts to find her, what happened to Holly remains a mystery. But several recent events - including a psychic's eerie vision and a mysterious phone call - makes her mother believe that Holly is alive and that she will see her again. Holly Krewson was born and raised in La Mesa, California. From a very young age, Holly dreamt of one day of becoming a movie star. But Holly's seemingly happy young life would soon begin a downward spiral. Holly's mother says when she was 11, Holly was molested by a trusted family friend. And, within a few years, her parents divorced. According to her mother, when Holly became a teenager she began hanging around with the wrong crowd. She lost all interest in dancing and pageants. Eventually, Holly dropped out of school and began working as a waitress. She was living with an older man with whom she had an apparently abusive relationship. In fact, he was arrested on several occasions for allegedly assaulting Holly. But each time, he would sweet-talk his way back into Holly's life, pulling her away from the security of her mother's home. For weeks at a time, Gwen would only see Holly sporadically. She recalls a particular day in February 1995 when her daughter stopped by her print shop. Gwen had no way of knowing that it would be the last time she would see her daughter. For the next several weeks Gwen tried to contact Holly, to no avail. Over the next five years Gwen never gave up searching for Holly. On Holly's 30th birthday, the San Diego media publicized the story of Gwen's determined search for her daughter. The story attracted the attention of a local psychic who said she immediately began receiving images of Holly. The psychic told Gwen that Holly had left California to flee an abusive situation. The psychic believed that there may have been a car accident and that Holly was in a somewhat semi-comatose condition. She believed she might be or may have been in a hospital possibly named Marymount. The names of the towns Marysville and Kenwood also came to her. But she was unable to make any further connections. Three months later, Gwen received a phone call that would change her life. Gwen heard a little voice say, "Hi Mama." She asked who it was and the caller said "Holly," and it sounded as if she was crying. The caller eventually said she was in Ohio but shortly thereafter Gwen was disconnected from the call. But Gwen knew for certain that the caller was Holly. With the new possibility that Holly was in Ohio, Gwen got out her atlas and found a city of Marysville in Ohio as well as a Marymount hospital. However, when Gwen contacted the hospital and nearby police departments, she ran into several roadblocks. Because Holly was over 21, even if she had ever been treated in the area, her records could not be released. But there would be one more intriguing new lead that could prove instrumental in finding Holly. Recently, while trying to locate Holly's old boyfriend, Detective Vincent Brown uncovered new information. The owner of a local campground, 50 miles east of La Mesa, vividly recalled seeing Holly there in 1995 - a few months after she was believed to have disappeared. Holly and her boyfriend and one other person referred to as Humby were at a camp ground in Julian, California. During the weekend, Holly's boyfriend created trouble at the campground. When they were finally asked to leave, the boyfriend allegedly pointed a gun at the owner and threatened to come back and shoot him. Police are interested in speaking with the man accompanying Holly and her boyfriend who went by the name of Humby. In 1995, he was believed to be in his early to mid-20s. The new leads that have surfaced have revitalized Gwen. But she continues to be haunted by unanswered questions. Where was Holly when she made the mysterious phone call? And what could be preventing her from calling back now? Were the psychic's visions correct? UPDATE: A year after Holly Krewson disappeared, a body was found northeast of San Diego. For ten years the body was unidentified, but in March of 2006 dental records confirmed that the remains were Holly Krewson. The cause of death is unknown, but a homicide investigation is now under way.
