Rebroadcast Date: October 21, 2002 SYNOPSIS: Erica Lynn Richardson had everything going for her. The African-American beauty earned a degree in microbiology from the University of Florida and had completed post-graduate work in pharmaceuticals from Howard University, graduating magna cum laude. She was manager of a pharmacy in Tampa, Florida, and had recently purchased her own home in the suburb of Valrico. She was looking for someone to share her life with when she met electrical technician John Milton Feiga. Erica was shy and dated infrequently, while Feiga had a reputation as a lady’s man, but they hit it off right away. Erica invited Feiga to move into her home, and shortly thereafter the relationship began to unravel. Erica’s family says Feiga became obsessively jealous and tried to isolate her from friends and family. He exhibited wild mood swings and repeatedly called Erica at the pharmacy, accusing her of being unfaithful and making unreasonable demands. Finally, Erica asked Feiga to move out. He left, but his erratic behavior persisted. Reportedly, he began stalking Erica, showing up at her workplace unannounced, harassing her and threatening physical harm. Erica filed a restraining order against him, but Feigo continued to show up at her house until she was forced to have him arrested. Undeterred by the threat of jail time, Feiga continued to pursue Erica. One Saturday, a few weeks before Christmas 1997, she met her mother, Imogene Richardson, at a local mall to do some shopping. When the women drove behind the mall to pick up some purchases at a loading dock, John Feiga pulled in behind them and indicated to Erica that he wanted to talk to her. Erica’s mother heard little of the conversation, but the sight of him following Erica out of the parking lot alarmed her. Imogene heard nothing from her daughter the following day, and on Monday morning when she called Erica’s house there was no answer. Then Imogene called the pharmacy to discover Erica had not shown up for work. Frightened, Imogene went over to her daughter’s home. John Feiga’s truck was in the driveway, and, peering in the window, Imogene saw a bloody knife lying on the floor. Minutes later, police confirmed Imogene’s worst fears. Erica was dead, having been stabbed repeatedly in the upper body. Police found evidence of a struggle in the house, and the blood of a second party mixed in with Erica’s. Detective suspect the blood of the second party belongs to John Feiga, but can’t prove it without a sample of his DNA. Also, Erica’s 1992 Honda was missing and an eyewitness reported seeing Feiga driving the car a short time after they believe she had been killed. The car was located in a parking lot in Lafayette, Louisiana, near Feiga’s hometown, but relatives said they hadn’t seen John Feiga in several weeks. Today, John Feiga is still on the lam. He is wanted for grand theft auto and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Feiga remains the number one suspect in the murder of Erica Richardson. Characteristics: John Milton Feiga, is a 41-year-old African-American male. He is 5'10" tall and weighs 183 pounds. Feiga has black hair and brown eyes and has the word “Feiga” tattooed on the back of his left hand, his right calf, and his right bicep; the word “John” on his left leg; and the letters “JF” on his left forearm and his right bicep.
